Mixed Feelings

The first day of the Ashes series was superb. England captain Andrew Strauss won the toss & elected to bat first. England started off shakily & Alliaster Cook went cheaply. But English middle order responded brilliantly, as Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood & Wicketkeeper Batsman Matt Prior scored brilliant half centuries to ensure that England doesn’t lose the momentum they got. Kevin Pietersen was more solid than his usual attacking style of batsmanship. Paul Collingwood was also solid. Matt Prior also scored a good looking knock of 56. But Australian bowlers strike lately to pull off the things. England end the day on 336/7: a scoreboard which could have looked far better.
